Although through traffic will be reduced, there will be a significant increase in vehicles serving the new housing around Bollo Lane when the developments are completed. Even if every resident didn't own a car there would still be services, deliveries, visitors etc meaning that the number of vehicles entering from either Gunnersbury Lane or Bollo Bridge Road would be not be much changed.

There doesn't seem to be anyway that Bollo Bridge Road, particular at the narrow end by Acton Lane could handle any significant increase in traffic. I can see the emergency services raising objections to the proposals particular due to the eventual presence of buildings up to 24 storeys.

Other parts of TfL might also not be keen particular buses and property - which is a partner in the development going on along Bollo Lane.

For this reason it is wrong to present this as a done deal. From a selfish point of view I would love to see the WLO built and closing Bollo Lane would have no impact on me (except perhaps adding a bit to congestion on CHR). However, there are significant practical and technical challenges and some vested interests which will oppose this. Unlike most consultations it might just be that TfL is genuinely looking for ideas how to get round the challenges that the scheme presents and hopes someone will come up with good ideas.
