| I'd have thought some upgrading of the signaling operations around these level crossings would allow them to not be closed for anything like the same inordinate length of time they are now. Closing Bollo Lane is a serious matter and the consequences for vehicular traffic need to be properly considered and not just absorbed into generalised environmental talk about 'making the world a better place'. I assume some traffic tracking and route plotting will start soon to provide information about where everyone is trying to get to and working out how they'll manage in the future - including cyclists and pedestrians! One obvious solution is to open the Chiswick Business Park to through traffic, which it's well capable of handling. This should have been done from the start to take pressure off the southern residential section of Bollo Lane, the junctions by Chiswick Park tube, and the traffic lights with CHR. |
