| So what is your proposal then Peter? - cancel the entire project because some drivers don’t like the inconvenience ? - add maybe a few hundred million pounds to the project budget to build a bridge or a tunnel? - compulsory purchase the road through Chiswick Business Park? - hope some magic new technology is found? - demand that the level crossings stay open even if cars need to wait for 10 minutes and the queues go on for miles Hammersmith Bridge had 22k vehicles a day across it. Bollo Lane has a lot less than that so despite the inevitable predictions of doom, when it is shut, drivers will get used to it and make other plans. People aren’t robots only programmed to drive. You never know, some might take the train. |
