| You will find it much easier to park a Forest bike as you can leave it roughly in the vicinity of a bay: several yards to the left of it; several yards to the right of it; on the pavement behind it - better still, blocking the pavement; over the nearby junction so cars can't easily turn in or out; toppled over so it sticks out in the road, even in the road; and, luckily, as far from a bay as you wish. The choice appears to be yours. It seems, from conversations I've had with riders, that the same anarchic approach applies as it did with Lime: the fine for leaving a bike wherever and however you like is so low that riders shrug it off as cheaper than an Uber. That is ... if they are fined. I have reported several chaotic e-bike bays where all of the above happen regularly and where there are so many bikes the space left for passing by is less than a yard wide making it impossible for people in mobility scooters to ride through, difficult for people with mobility limitations, and very awkward for anyone pushing a buggy or carrying bags of shopping. Yesterday, at one of these chaotic bike bays I asked two riders who were trying to book bikes why they were so choosy about which bike they wanted to book. They said some were dirty/muddy; some had broken seats; and those that had toppled over were too heavy to lift. There were very few usable bikes. On Lime, the current policy is that they can only be ridden through, not parked here - though I still see them dotted around I assume because the fine is so low.
