| Richard, here is the relevant paragraph from Andy Slaughter's weekly update - "I met with Post Office Ltd again this week as part of our weekly meetings. I recognise the delays to reopening are frustrating and affecting constituents. I am continuously reassured by the Post Office that they are still committed to reopening the office, and that the business is viable. Constituents can be assured I am doing all I can to push for a solution as quickly as possible." As he can't directly control the management of the Post Office or make them reopen the branch, I'm struggling to understand what more you think he should be doing. My nearest Post Office as of this week is a counter in a bubble tea cafe which just opened on Acton High Street. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar outcome is what is in store for Chiswick but, for the time-being, the Post Office is telling the MP that we are going to get back the full service branch at the original location. Why would they mislead him? |
