| Writers during the Roman Republic were bemoaning the decline in standards of the younger generation and older people haven't stopped doing this since. My own observation is that the young are far better behaved than they used to be two or three decades ago, mainly because alcohol seems to play a less important part in their social lives. There hasn't been a time in the last forty years in which any sensible person would have considered leaving a property in Chiswick unlocked and unattended even for a short time. |
