I'm simply trying to explain why (in my opinion) a reward hasn't (to my knowledge) been put up to try and identify the hit and run cyclist who inflicted serious injuries to an innocent pedestrian, whereas one was put up to try and trace the person who was involved in inflicting life changing injuries to an innocent pedestrian.

Neither scumbag stopped to check the condition of their victim.

Yes, it is irrelevant to the job of the police, but without limitless resources it's entirely understandable why investigation of some crimes are prioritised over others.

Whether it was a cyclist or a car driver who inflicted the injuries, the condition of the victim has to have some bearing on the amount of effort and money spent by police in pursuing the miscreant.
