I used to live near Ellen Wilkinson School and went to a primary school in Chiswick. I thus did the journey in reverse. When I was four, I was accompanied by my elder brother and sister, (two and four years older,) and as I got older by myself. It is an easy journey and well within the abilities of a normally capable secondary school child. North Ealing Station is only about 100m from the school. Driving there would be onerous and on days when there are traffic hold ups, (any day it rains or there is a traffic accident in a five-mile radius,) it would be impossible to predict how long it would take. I hope your relative’s daughter is happy at the school. One of my sisters went there and enjoyed it. I know it ages me, but I remember the school being built whist I was at secondary school.
