| The news that a large residential development is planned for the site on Power Road near the north circular could have fairly profound implications for the area. The Power Road area is zoned for light industrial and is a low rise area. The notion that you could build 200 plus flats here and then have some shared work spaces to keep up the pretence that the development is appropriate for the area is on that will catch on quickly if this goes through. I'm not so sure the height is an issue but transport infrastructure is - there is space at this site several more buildings of this size and Gunnersbury station is struggling to cope. If there were over a thousand new flats the station would be unusable even assuming this hasn't already happened once the developments in the Brentford area start being completed. The only consolation for locals is that it might mean Jeremy Clarkson has to move out. |
