| There are now loads of them appearing around the Bedford Park / Acton Green Area. Two of them were installed very quickly in Rusthall Avenue a couple of weeks ago (talked to the guys from SSE doing this when going out with the dog in the morning and both were completed by the time that I came back!). I note that they are now visible (and therefore presumably active) on the Ubitricity App. There is an electric car owner living near one of them (with no off-road parking) but none near the other, although perhaps somebody is in the process of buying such a car? It is not practical, or indeed necessary to 'reserve' parking by these lamposts for electric cars only - parking on the street is invariably packed and so reserving parking for pretty much one specific car is not really on - if somebody adds electric charging to the lampost near my house, I would be happy to move my car if a neighbour told me that they wanted to charge their electric car, but for the most part these cars only need charging every week or two anyway. |
