For me( sciatica a go-go)the deep tissue painful massage worked too. I had one in Thailand some years ago and although it was painful for day or two, once that pain had subsided I was much much better. Before that massage I had been having sessions with a chiropractor in Isleworth and found that I did feel a lot better but the symptoms came back after a few weeks and I was back to square one in a couple of months.
