I really wanted to like it- I have resigned to going just for a cup of tea- really don't rate the food. Tried to buy toast one afternoon at 3:30 was informed the chef had left. ( very hard to shove a slice of bread in the toaster?!) Bought the soup from the children's menu, it was spicy green lentil served with hard sour bread, my chid tried it and couldn't eat it, don't know any child that would..veggie options very limited, had the veggie stew, was tasty but very very small- was still hungry after eating it. I Can't feed the kids, (unless I want to give them white cheap sandwiches with cheap ham or plastic cheese) cakes over priced...a friend wanted a scrambled egg for a child and was told they had to purchase a full breakfast...the problem is no flexibility with the menu...I miss the old cafe where you could order something cheap and cheerful like beans on toast; get a jacket potato...I really miss their houmous, feta and pesto cibatta....I think they will struggle in the winter. The automatic doors are a joke, they let the small children out and the now banned dogs in! It seems to take them forever to make a coffee...I'm very disappointed. |
