I may be mistaken but mdf isn't a good idea under tiles especially in areas where it is likely to get wet.It can be quite brittle and does not tolerate moisture. We were advised to use treated ply. Make sure you consider the thickness of the ply and the thickness of the tiles to be laid plus adhesive as this raises the height of the floor considerably affecting doors and other areas. My husband recently bought masses of ply and had it delivered will ask him later where from and post again. What is the current floor. If it is concrete it may be easier just to get a levelling compound put down which is pretty straightforward. |
