Brian

Many thanks for your response. It’s obvious you’ve had a look at Action Acton’s website and not the companexus website which was what my post was about. (Hence the reference to (www.companexus.com) as at the beginning of the post.)

Regarding you’re reference to plain English I agree wholeheartedly and although the list you reproduced does indeed seem senseless, I hope you would agree that in the context of the Action Acton website it does make more sense. (For other readers the website goes on to explain what the sound bites in Brian’s list refer to – in plain english)
Unfortunately it is a sign of the times in which we live. Action Acton is a charity based in Acton and tenders for funds for it’s many projects mainly from the European Union and projects must conform to their strict guidelines.  It’s worth noting that these funds would be allocated to other areas in the United Kingdom if Action Acton were not part of this tendering process so in essence we are bringing money into west London to improve the environment that would not otherwise be available.

You are indeed correct in stating that many of our projects are centred around Acton although we do work in other west London boroughs and the companexus web portal is a free service to small to medium businesses all over west London and Thames Gateway. This allows companies to register their business and inform other businesses of their products or services. It will allow businesses to access suppliers or buyers in their local area and to communicate directly through the web portal. It is as it says – an online networking tool. It will also allow businesses to access support available in their local area. This is a relatively new project and like any network it’s uses will become more apparent the more businesses are registered.

Have a look and let me know what you think. Regarding the points on the Action Acton website, I’d be happy to go through them or even better give Gary Burgess (our Economic Development manager) a call and he will be happy to discuss
