Sarah, having read your posting advertising Companexus, I looked up the web-site. I have spent about an hour trawling through a veritable quagmire of politically correct Euro-speak garbage. It all seems to evolve round "Action Acton", with little if any relevance or reference to Hounslow, or Chiswick in particular. I'm quite sure that the motives of Companexus are worthy and altruistic, but to mention some of the contents of the site, will I hope, put things both into context, and into some form of perspective. You must understand that as I write the following, it is with acute embarassment and despair, but here goes. 1) Acton Liveability Programme 2) Clients can be sign-posted to their neareat provision 3) Catalyst Community Housing 4) Helping Support Action Business Forum 5) Business Improvement District 6) LDA funded Market and Business support project 7) Exodus Project 8) Learning Resource Centre 9) Tallo Centre 10) Cement Project 11) Boss Contract 12) Meganexus Business Improvement Network Project 13) Safer Neighbourhood and Community Safety Projects 14) Thames Gateway Objective 2 areas 15) Grasp/IAG/Edexcel/Equal/BTEG/TRA/BID/BME 16) Dynamic centre for start up incubator units for creative and media businesses 17) Implementing performance management processes including clear operational plans and project management skills 18) Sub regional and Pan London bids and developments 19) This one's a classic - Assisting Ealing Council in its strategic objectives by contributing actively as a voluntary sector organisation to the implementation of a range of strategies such as the Community Strategy, the Local Strategic Partnership Strategy--, Economic development strategy--, and Crime and Disorder strategy. And as for Strategic Contexts, Sub Regional Framework, and god forbid, a "Mission Statement". Would it be possible to give us the name of the person or persons who actually committed this bilge to print? Has he/she not heard of plain English, that is readily understood and manifestly comprehensible to Joe Public? |
