| I assume the reiteration of your 'black economy = drugs' point there was either because you're a troll or are genuinely proud of what you think is witty. I won't grace the general tarring of asylum seekers with an answer but for the benefit of anyone else viewing this thread who might otherwise be alarmed by Taylor's points and/or spurred into even more of an anti-refugee panic, it might be worth pointing out - with sources - that this equation is false. eg., White people using class A substances 4x as much as Black people (1), and even outside of Class A's (the only things 'worth' smuggling across borders), even overall drug use is lower among minority ethnic groups than among the White population in the UK (2) whilst also having less access to wraparound support and treatment than their white counterparts. (1) - Dr Shiner/London School of Economics - The Colour of Injustice: Race Drugs and Law Enforcement, (2) UKDPC Drugs and Diversity: Ethnic Minority Groups Further, I don't think I've ever come across a source which says the vast majority of people selling and consuming drugs in this country are men. Would Taylor also like to refer to this as a 'male' economy, or would that be unfairly simplifying issues and tarring a whole group of people with the same bad brush..? |
