Someone (my guess would be from Old Chiswick Preservation Society) has done a FOI for earlier TfL documents referring to options for Hogarth roundabout. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-1464-2425 The document issued on 21/12/18 refers to the following collision record. "A collision analysis undertaken for Hogarth Roundabout and its vicinity over the past 36 months (01/08/2014 to 31/07/2017) shows 58 collisions taking place. There were no collisions involving either pedestrians or cyclists (which could be attributed to a lack of at grade facilities) and there were 18 collisions involving motorcyclists. The majority of collisions on the roundabout were sideswipes as a result of poor lane discipline and vehicles changing lanes, as well as shunt collisions from sudden stopping. Weather and lighting do not appear to be factors, as most collisions occurred during the day and in dry weather, without winds." The document appendix does have information for all 58 of the collisions.. so plenty of information for people who want to explain away collisions to get stuck into. |
