‘Project fear’ is one of those slogans that should always have been viewed with suspicion.  There were exaggerated claims made on both sides of the Brexit argument which time has shown to be false.  For every ‘house price collapse’ there was a ‘Brexit has no downsides, only upsides’.  Scepticism was the appropriate response to both.  But as a Remain voter I actually think that the current state of the United Kingdom is much worse than I anticipated.  I thought there would be a more conciliatory deal with the E.U.  I thought we would muddle through somehow but the consequences of Brexit have been dire - the damage and sometimes collapse of companies trading with Europe due to the the additional paperwork, staffing crisis of the NHS, care homes, farming, restaurants and hospitality in general resulting from an end to freedom of movement, threats to peace and stability in the island of Ireland, the existential risk to the U.K. as the movement for Scottish independence gathers pace.  I could easily go on.
