Bully for the OP's optimism. Let me give a countervailing view. This morning I rang my GPs' surgery numerous times over half an hour. Each time I listened to a recording referring me to PATCHS to contact the GP online. PATCHS had a message "We have reached our capacity for online consultations today". System Online, of course, had no vacancies between now and 7 November. Each time I rang the surgery the message about PATCHS was followed by another message "we are unable to answer your call at this time". When I finally got through I was then in a queue for over 40 minutes, before I was told there were no further appointments this morning, and I would have to go through the process all over again at midday. I must say the doctors are generally excellent, but availability of appointments is an enormous problem. I suspect from what I read that the problem is widespread, and that people the length and breadth of the country exerience similar difficulty. When will we get a government which makes a serious effort to address this problem, and all the other NHS issues, ambulance waiting times, A&E delays, lack of beds, bed-blocking due to inadequate social care arrangements for elderly patients. staff shortages, etc, etc?
