When you're driving a car, signs with more than one or two words, plus numbers, are not helpful because there are so many other elements around you which require your attention. The Hartington Road sign, for drivers coming over Chiswick Bridge, should simply have a standard, clear 'No Left Turn' symbol, and underneath, 'Except for Permit Holders'. The signs showing time restrictions for entry into Staveley Road are also unnecessarily complicated. A 'No Entry' sign with the times underneath would have been more suitable.

But of course, as LBH are well aware, 'Complicated signage = more revenue'.
