When shopping in a supermarket I rarely notice anyone or what they are wearing however on a trip to Lidl I had a small trolley with approx 10 items. I would normally go through the self service but they in their wisdom changed the rules and I had to go through the service till. I was tempted to dump the few things but since I had gone specifically for them gave in and stayed. By now I was really narked but it gave me a chance to stare at my fellow customers and the staff. The assistant that informed me I had to get in a queue behind someone who appeared to be stocking up for a seige, was wearing a mask but as usual, with her nose hanging out as were 2 of the customers at the self service tills she was in charge of. One man was wearing a mask as a chin strap, the aforementioned assistant asked the man to pull his mask up - he said he was exempt - customers and staff groaned. I was on the point of telling the assistant it was a case of pot calling the kettle but decided I didn't have the energy. I packed my goods and left. On to Morrisons in Brentford where I saw at least 4 members of staff wearing masks incorrectly. Really what is the point? Half of those that do wear masks do not wear them properly and life really is too short to argue with everyone. |
