I thought not. A cyclist got very irate with a driver who failed to stop. The cyclists was riding very fast on the pavement coming from Richmond towards the Manor Road roundabout, she swung round the corner and at the last minute and still at speed attemped to cross the zebra crossing without giving the driver any time to react. As a pedestrian approaches a crossing good drivers will have time to anticipate they might want to cross and therefore stop. However, a cyclist that comes out of nowhere at full speed riding on a pavement and makes no attempt to slow or check the traffic makes it almost impossible for a driver. I dont think the driver was in the wrong at all they were in front of me. The cyclist hurled abuse. I thought highway code stipulated cyclists should dismount at zebra crossings. |
