Given the devaluation in the pound post referendum he's probably about right there. I just don't get the sentimentality about currency. It's money, you buy stuff with it. Why on earth does it matter what it's called, what colour it is & who (within reason) is on it? Furthermore in a progressively cashless society getting wound up about what's in your wallet seems to be rather mid 20th Century, which could of course explain a lot.

In Sweden nowadays it's actually quite hard to pay for stuff with cash. Ever since contactless went to £30 for debit cards I rarely bother carrying it.
