Probably right, but the reason they say many London buses are not used much these days is because many people don't tap in, especially for the buses with 3 entrances/exits. I read that from a bus driver on twitter. The buses are full, but the data says they aren't - so TFL decide to chop them. The consultation on the 27 resulted in the majority saying please don't stop it, but a consultation is a pointless exercise these days as they look at the results and decide to do something else entirely. Someone set up a 'reinstate the 27 bus petition' recently - but can't remember where i saw it..
I had the same issues going to work yesterday - couldn't get on the bus that came eventually and had to wait for another one - never ever happened with the 27. I am sure the 27 buses have their sleepover in Stamford Brook bus garage, so why they can't come out and pick passengers up on their way to Hammersmith, is beyond me - they are going that way anyway..
