Guy Lambert explained " Just to clarify, the fencing recently erected is to do with the works commencing shortly to create the sports hub, which will be in the North West section of the park. " Just to clarify Guy, by the "Sports Hub" can I take it you're mainly referring to the building featured in all the publicity material, around which all the other facilities will centre ? Because quite wrongly perhaps, and in the absence of any indication to the contrary I'd always assumed this was to be built on the site of the old changing rooms; themselves the site of the former model farm buildings. Which would make sense, not only in terms of available and otherwise underutilised space, but by its proximity regrettable though it might, be to a suitable car park. Not only is this site not in the north west section of the park, but the in centre; but its also a much further away from the Lionel Road entrance as compared with the car park entrance; which could thus afford lorries a far shorter route to the construction site. michael adams |
