I am long retired but can't see how the owners of the type of cafe you describe ever make a profit from people sitting tapping away on their laptops for hours. Maybe these compliant cafes have to charge 3 or 4 times the right price for watered down coffee and tiny portions to cover the expense of these "sitters". How does it work for them? It obviously didn't for Le Pain Quotidien. Personally, I also do not want to frequent any place where I have to negotiate buggies and ill-behaved screaming children. |
