| Brought back a feeling of nostalgia for my time in York. Too many chains, too many betting shops, too much traffic, not enough trees and pavement space and ugly, souless concrete architecture plus of course online shopping is what is causing the death of the High Street. Reasonably priced cafes where the growing army of those who work from home can go out, perhaps with their laptop or at least smart phone and tap into wifi, sit among other people, do some work, have a light lunch, maybe meet a friend for a quick chat will all help, to be replaced by families at weekends. |
