Well exactly, more of those kinds of outlets are not what is needed on high streets. If I fancied going to the High Road with my laptop to have a decent coffee/snack, meet a friend and then maybe carry on doing some work in a quiet environment while having an ice cold fresh fruit drink for example I wouldn't choose there. It's nice sometimes to have a change of environment. I would go somewhere like Carvassos, or the cafe at the Hogarth Club which is much more conducive to that kind of relaxed environment. I don't think Chiswick High Road is dying the same death as many other high streets are - yet. Although maybe if CS9 goes ahead, it will. |
