Likewise, I could not understand why we committed an act of collective madness in 1975, but it eventually became crystal clear when Edward Heath was exposed as a liar, when equating the EU to a Common Market, with no loss of sovereignty or independence. He later said: "The British public are too stupid to be involved in governing themselves". If he had not blatantly lied, I doubt if people would have voted to join the EU all those years ago. Second time round, sanity has prevailed. Also, I’m at a loss as to understand why you chose not to explain all this to your colleagues from Europe. |
