Last night I went and saw some of these, beginning at Westminster Abbey, and then walking to Leicester Square, Regent St. then through to Grosvenor Square. Sadly the last (aquarium phone box) had been cased in and blocked off as people were pushing each other into the road, and it was thought to be a hazard.
Many roads were traffic-free, but the crowds were very heavy and put me in mind of what VE Day must have been like. The installations were beautiful and in my view far preferable to tacky Christmas lights.
