Washing a load of towels today my machine has started to make a dreadful noise on spinning at 1400 revs. I later turned the spin speed down to 1000 revs and the machine seemed fine again. I am assuming that the bearings are beginning to go and the machine is a year out of any warranty. As the machine is otherwise working well, I am wondering if there is anyone who can change the bearings. I have seen a You Tube film which suggests this is a fairly easy and simple job to do but Miele say no I need a new machine and, guess what, the dimensions on the new machines mean they will not fit in the undercounter cupboard as the top now extends over the pipe work and does not fit under the fixed batten for the counter top. I do not want to take the cupboard door off as this will spoil my small kitchen where all the white goods are built in or behind a door. |
