Mary & Claudia, thanks for bumping the thread.

I had a chat with a knowledgeable bloke at Maplins and we came to the conclusion that the answer was a Nikkai Video Sender Kit, which transmits the signal from a unit attached to the Sky box through the ether to another unit attached to the remote TV. Maplins sold me one for £49.99. Initially I couldn't make it work, but then on another visit to Maplins I was told that many people didn't realise that the cables were unit-specific and marked as such with a small label on each Scart plug - one for the transmitter and one for the receiver. Once I had the right cable with the right unit it worked fine. So, problem solved.
