Are you sure there isn't a setting on the digital TV to receive an analogue TV signal on the coax input of the TV? The coax output of the Sky box is an analogue TV signal.  The coax input on the TV should be able to support a digital TV broadcast or an analogue TV signal from another source such as the Sky box.  The remote control of my Sony TV has a button to switch between the analogue or digital TV signal.
