I keep getting enthusiastic reminders (i.e. pestering) about smart meters, tariffs and so on from my supplier (npower), but frankly, I can't see how I could change the amount of power I use unless I never turned my heating on and didn't have a hot shower in the morning. I don't waste power, I don't leave lights on, and, as a single person, I don't think my usage is excessive, especially compared with a family of, say, two adults and three or four children. I have a suspicion that it's more to do with gathering wider information about your life (always useful to advertisers) than changing your use of energy. |
