yes Viv, that is just one of the aspects also worth considering are : anything that is on the 'internet of things', of which the 'smart home' and smart meters are a subset can be hacked and remotely controlled/switched on or off there also appears to be a problem with lock in to your supplier and their tariff and big problems switching to competitors also problems are reported with interference with wifi worth googling and reading up on 'smart meter internet problems' and 'smart meter hack' worth considering if you want to give anyone, authorities, suppliers or hackers that much potential control of goes on in your home as well as the privacy issues Viv already raised (i will be resisting as long as possible) |
