My partner and I went to Fuerteventura a couple of years ago. We stayed at Corralejo on the north-east tip of the island and had a week of warm sunshine early in the year. It's a pretty little Spanish town, with a wide main street for strolling and lots of restaurants, with some very nice fish restaurants around the harbour in the north of the town, and a pleasant market area on certain days. With only a week, we didn't stray outside the town, but if you want to go further afield, there are mountain, desert and beach areas to explore.
