Claire, what you are describing is the result of "fast access for senior officers"Some bright spark thought it would be a good idea to recruit high ranking officers directly from prestigious civi jobs.Because they have proved their worth in industrial/boardroom positions, the numpties thought it would be a good idea to recruit these wizzkids straight into high ranking officers positions of Chief Inspector and above, the thought being that the university degree would give thema different approach to police work, and that is what you have got.They have no experience of "real policing"have never walked a beat, and learned everything they know about policing from a book.Expect things to get a lot worse.Moral is at an all time low, and experienced officers are leaving the job because they cannot stand working like this |
