Is it just me or have the police lost it? They pursue witchhunts against journalists who they deem to have transgressed the codes over phone hacking, getting them out of bed at five in the morning and putting them through months of stress - I think none of them were prosecuted in the end? And they seem to want to take many celebrities to court - ok, it is better than the rich and famous 'getting away with it' and some have been proven guilty but still, the scale of it seems extreme, and their deal with the BBC to photograph Cliff Richard's house before he even knew he was under (totally unproveN) suspicion, standing outside Ted Heath's home and proclaiming everyone who may have been 'molested' by him should come forward (also accusations totally unproven) and now saying that consulting clairvoyants has a role in policing? They come across as blundering, naive, gullible and foolish. I hope I am wrong. |
