| I presume that most of the people who have responded to this thread, Carl included, do not live on Windmill Road. I do and I would respectfully suggest that you assess the 'facts' prior to pouring scorn on any objection. The Road currently holds circa 60 residents. This scheme will potentially add 170; a new total of 230. The CPZ is already oversaturated with cars, a matter made twice as bad in the evenings by the double parking / kerb mounting of those using the football pitches / tennis courts. It is a single file road, which although not busy, can be dangerous. The Common is also a beautiful place to take the kids a kick about at the w/e. All this will change with the Hotel. The People, the cars (where are 'they' going to park btw??) the litter, the transient nature on the people using it ie) not community locals. One of the posters is right, maybe we care more about our community than the commerce, and whichever poster claimed 'more jobs more visitors' clearly has not opened their eyes on a Saturday and spotted the masses of bodies..!! It is not the scheme I oppose, it's the location of it. Oh, and the building is NOT empty; 17 companies currently work from it. |
