| These average speed cameras (SPECS)are simply revenue raisers.There is no pretence for road safety, It's just about how many pound notes they can raise.They are always installed in pairs, are painted yellow and read the front number plate of every car in the carriageway the camera is sited over.These cameras only cover the lane they are above, they cannot cover every lane on a 3 lane motorway.However, you will find the cameras sited over different lanes on each gantry you pass.In theory, if you keep changing lanes, you should be able to beat the cameras, but I wouldn't bet on it.If you ride a motorbike, you are safe from these cameras, they only read the front number plate, and bikes don't have them.But you can guarantee there will be something else that will be watching you. |
