Actually it's simpler than that, really - Chiswick is on the river and the river is both a major route for civilian helicopter traffic (which has to stay over the water if single engined and tends to anyway even if multi-engined as it's an official route for them) and quite a lot of NATO helicopters use it too, including the RAF, RN and Army. Add in the occasional police helicopter (which has been a few times recently and hangs around for ages) and it does look like a bit of an airshow at times. |
