As I understood one of the reasons - it is that if you are working a Saturday night - you would finish your shift at 8.00.a.m. Sunday morning but be expected to be back at work on Monday. That means that TfL are treating a day you actually work as a rest day which it isn't. Going home on Sunday you would spend a fair bit of that time catching up on sleep, hardly a day to be able to do family things. Anyone who works nights will know that it does take its toll, would you really want someone who is knackered driving a train? |
