"Train drivers are going to go the same way as video shop owners and milkmen." The Victoria Line was designed to be able to run without drivers in the cabs in 1968, and yet they are still there. The DLR manages without drivers and seems to have a perfectly good safety record. I wonder when TfL are going to press the red launch button and try and do away with drivers on the Tube lines that are equipped to operate driverless trains ? That would likely result in the strike to end all strikes. |
