Topic: Resident's Parking Permit renewal

Permit expires on 31/7 and I did get a reminder to renew from Hounslow, which I did by post on 14/7. Just realised that it hasn't arrived with one day to go.
So I emailed @serco, but the automated response promises to try to answer my email within 10 days...
Any ideas on how to avoid problems if it doesn't turn up by Saturday?
Is there a grace period on permit renewal?
Is putting a "renewal applied for" note in the windscreen likely to satisfy a CEO?
Anybody else in the same boat?
