" Or is it just that their types and sizes of font together with brief messages in their posters suit me?" TfL have continued the work that Frank Pick and Edward Johnston started on the Underground, with an extremely readable font (New Johnston) and very strict rules and standards on how it is used. They put a lot of effort into this. If you're interested, have a look at https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/suppliers-and-contractors/design-standards To display a word or phrase in bold, have a look at the last four lines of this message of mine from 2006. |
