I have had to do it for three loft conversions. Someone suggested buying cheap fire doors to satisfy building control and then put the original doors back but I was advised not to as it would mean in the event of a fire the insurance company would not pay out. Different officers give different advice - one told me I needed fire alarms on landings and another said I needed them in every room. |
