You need to wait until the cheque deposit receives 'certainty of fate'. The OFT Customer Promise Maximum Timescales say this must happen by Transaction Day (The day a cheque deposit appears as a credit on your account) plus 6 clearing days. Clearing days are equivalent to business working days and do not include weekends or bank holidays. If in doubt you should contact your bank to confirm that the cheque deposit can no longer be debited from your account. |
