Perhaps I am being over suspicious but I have recently advertised an antique bureau on the website. The only response I received was from someone who described himself as a businessman. He agreed to purchase the bureau without seeing it and offered £50 over the asking price for it to be held. He then asked for full contact details and said that he would send a cheque and that once it had cleared would arrange for it to be collected.
On one level it seems pretty reasonable but something does not ring true. The letter was a 'cut and paste' job as it referred at times to the sofa I wanted to sell.
Any views?
