"when looking at a house in a narrow street it's not possible to get a decent view of it the way I'm pretty sure used to be possible." Well, this is odd. I've just tried with Chrome on Windows 7, using Devonshire Road as an example, because the Google camera would have been very close to the houses on the east side of the road. What I found was that the new Street View gave me a much better view than the old one. Here's the view using the new Google maps: And this is the best I could do with the old Google maps. At this setting, if you hover over the '-' button, it says "zoom out of street view" : |
