Most animal rescues are very good, and the majority are registered charities. It is not a good idea to get a rescue dog from one that is not registered. I approached one rescue organisation in the home counties that sells rescue puppies when I was looking and when I asked how the puppy I was interested in came to be there they refused to say and when I pressed they said 'we don't like people who ask too many questions'. I reported them to a reviews website. But it is not difficult to find very good, caring ones who definitely are only wanting a donation to cover the cost of transporting the dog or cat, injections, neutering etc and a contribution to the general work of the charity. |
